Welcome to The Class!

This Selected Topics Course is an independent project class that assumes prior experience with ArcGIS in Market Analysis.

Each student will tailor a specific real estate market analysis question based on their own research interests.

Project Requirements:

• Minimum 10 pages
• Focus on GIS

How Will the Paper Be Graded?

• 15% - Clearly expressed Research Question
• 15% - Clearly expressed Conclusion
• 25% - Appropriate Problem Solving Method Primarily Using GIS
• 15% - Appropriate Data Sources Used to Help Understand and Solve Problem
• 10% - Appropriate Literature Sources Used to Help Understand and Solve Problem
• 15% - Reflection on the Usefulness and Practicality of Research
  
• 5% - Clearly Written with Grammatically Correct English

What Other Grades Will There Be Other Than the Paper?

• The initial proposal, due June 10 (20 points)
  
• 4 Progress Reports, due dates in sylabus (30 points)
• Final Paper, due last day of class (50 points

Will There be Lectures?

• No. This is an independent project class.
  

Is Class Attendance Mandatory?

• No, there will be no formal class time. This course does not meet as a class.
• This class is a one-on-one project between each student and myself. We will communicate via weekly reports/feedback, email, office hours, and appointments can be set up as well.
